We welcomed New York's Upstate Rubdown for a really great house show. It was a chilly evening, but they were good sports and played in the front yard next to a fire. This band is so incredibly good and it's obvious that they love what they're doing. Really hope that we get another chance to work together.
OK - lot's going on here! We used the Peluso P-12 on ladies' vocals. I have to say, they really nailed the proximity for getting these vocals to sit just right in the mix. We also used Peluso's P-28 small diaphragm tube condenser on the mandolin and their TR-14 tube ribbon on the saxophone. Finally, I used the P-49 on the bass. We went with dynamic mics on the cajon - one in front, one in the back. Universal Audio 4-710 and Apollo preamps, Apollo converters.
All audio for Yellow Couch Sessions is recorded and mixed by Steven Foxbury of Yellow Couch Studio. Video for this session was shot and edited by my main man, Matt Dayak.
