Zack Smith and Caitlin Doyle comprise the Nashville duo Smooth Hound Smith. Zack possesses a rare ability to divorce his limbs and simultaneously play guitar, drums and harmonica—all really well, by the way. Caitlin is also a fantastic percussionist. At the heart of all of this is a collection of songs that are instantly unforgettable and a blend of vocal harmonies that constantly remind us of why vocal duos endure.
For this session, we used Peluso's 2247se on Caitlin's vocals and their P-12 on Zack's. We experimented a bit with these configurations and found that these really worked best with their voices. We also used Peluso's tube-ribbon TR-14 on Zack's amp because I'll use that mic on an amp every chance I get.
