Man, I'm excited to share this video. Kuf Knotz is such a talented MC and his band is water tight. I would love to record an entire album of them doing this and they're welcome back anytime!
When I told Chris at Peluso that we were planning this, he mentioned that the Vacuum Tube Bottle mic worked really well for hip-hop vocals and shipped it straight away. He wasn't wrong and as our recent videos have shown, I've grown to love that mic for lots of applications. We used Peluso's P-49 on backing vocals and their P-12 to capture the vocals from their keyboard player. We also mic'd the Vox AC-15 (courtesy of Empire Music!) with Peluso's tube-ribbon TR-14. I don't know why I'd ever use any other microphone on an amp.
All audio for Yellow Couch Sessions is recorded and mixed by Steven Foxbury of Yellow Couch Studio. Video for this session was shot Dan Rugh of Commonwealth Press and edited by his trusted interns Codey Perrone and Dylan Devine.
